Reuters: 'Officials investigating the disappearance of a Malaysian airliner with 239 people on board are narrowing the focus of their inquiries on the possibility that it disintegrated in mid-flight, a senior source said on Sunday. Malaysia Airlines flight 370 vanished after climbing to a cruising altitude of 35,000 feet between Kuala Lumpur and Beijing in the early hours of Saturday, but search teams have still not been able to make any confirmed discovery of wreckage in seas beneath the plane's flight path almost 48 hours after it took off.' Debka reports that the plane may have tried to turn back. 'Security authorities have discovered two more passengers using suspect passports were on the flight, in addition to the two traveling on stolenn Italian and Austrian passports.' Fox News reports
that Interpol has stated that 'no country checked its database for information about stolen passports that were used to board the Malaysia Airlines flight [370]'.
Nigeria: Machete-wielding men attack Government House, Enugu. Via AllAfrica, about 50 men attacked Government House in Enugu, Enugu State, in southeastern Nigeria. 'Reacting to the incident, Chukwudi Achife, the chief press secretary to Governor Sulluvan Chime, said that the attack occurred at about 4:30am when a group of young men numbering about 50 and carrying machetes and cutlasses invaded the Government House and tried to force their way in.' The attackers, having brought knives to the proverbial gunfight, were defeated by security forces. 'Achife disclosed that the hoodlums were immediately engaged by the security personnel who shot dead one person and arrested three.' Motive for the attack not yet known.
